Below you will find answers to some of the most frequently asked questions regarding translation processes, pricing, delivery times and translation quotes.

What is a certified translation?

A certified or official or legal translation is the translation of an official document that can be used as an official document itself and be submitted to and accepted by any legal or private authority.

How is a translation certified?

The translation is certified with the stamp of the certified professional translators, graduates of the Department of Foreign Languages, Translation and Interpretation of the Ionian University who, pursuant to the Presidential Decree 169 of 17.06.2002 (Government Gazette 156/2.7.02), have the right to provide certified translations for public and private authorities. In most cases a certified copy of the original document is needed to be attached with its official translation. The documents are stamped together. More rarely a simple copy or no copy of the original is needed, depending on the requirements of the organization where the documents will be submitted.

I need an official translation, what do I do?

It is advisable that you get informed whether you also need a certified copy of the original document to be translated. This piece of information is available at the authority where the documents are to be submitted. Nevertheless, if you cannot get this piece of information, feel free to ask us∙ from our experience we may have the answer.

Then get a quote. Given that you agree with our offer, you can send us immediately the document to be translated, scanned or photographed, via mail, while you can have the copy of the original –if needed- certified. You can send us the certified copy of the original document via courier or post or, for faster transaction, if your location is Athens, by meeting in person your own official translator.

Once the payment is arranged, we send you the final document via post, or –again- if your location is Athens, we meet you in person and complete the transaction.
